Please consider this report on the use of funds received by Food for Life Ukraine (BO Yizha Zhyttya) from Food for Life Deutschland e.V. on March 7, 2023 in the amount of €4,000.

According to the current needs of the organization, we have distributed the received amount between our branches in five cities of Ukraine, namely Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya. The donated amount of money has been spent in full by
April 20, 2023.

In Kharkiv, we have distributed 17,300 free meals via 14 distribution spots. Due to the financial support, our volunteers were able to cook a number of meals: Ukrainian borshch, buckwheat soup, cream soup, rice soup, kichri, Indian dhal, barley porridge with vegetables and paneer-cheese, bulgur with vegetables, wheat porridge with vegetables, pilaf, bread rolls, crackers, oatmeal cookies, and various drinks made of chicory, hibiscus, dry fruits and apples.

In Kherson, currently there are four distribution spots. With the money received, our volunteers have cooked and distributed 6,478 free meals to those in need. These dishes included kichri, Ukrainian borshch, spaghetti soup and barley porridge with vegetables.

In Kyiv, currently there are six distribution spots, where our volunteers have distributed 7,640 portions of kichri, wheat porridge, millet porridge, chutney and salad, and 9,440 portions of bread rolls and cookies.

In Odesa, every work day we distribute around 500 lunch sets, which consist of 4-5 meals, namely: porridge with vegetables, kichri, borshch or soup; bread; halawa with raisins or sweet apple rice; drink; tomato sauce, at times. So far, our volunteers in Odesa have distributed around 8000 of such lunch sets.

In Zaporizhzhya, currently there are six distribution spots. Our volunteers have distributed around 1,500 free meals to our aid recipients, which equals to 1600 liters of liquid foods (drink – 300 l, kichri – 450 l, borshch – 300 l, wheat porridge – 350 l, tomato chutney – 200 l), 2300 bread rolls, 120 muffins, 360 sweet balls, 120 patties and 200 samosas with cabbage.
